Dennis,
I have this very minute just walked in from the garage after having spent
the day bolting fenders on my TR3a TS25054. After a second of panic, I know
that there was no gasket or putty between the body and any of the body
parts. I don't really see much advantage to it. All of the metal surfaces
are well painted, so are insulated already and I'm not sure that matters
anyway. In my view it's just something that might degrade or crack and fall
out eventually and then you do have a mess.
