This sounds like a pretty good deal. Chrome bumper MGB-GTs price out in
the CPI index at $2300+ for a "fair" example to over $6800 for an
"excellent" one. I recently drove a freshly restored BGT that has a
$12,000 price tag on it (no, it hasn't sold yet). While they may not be
Triumphs, they are easy to work on, fun to drive and parts are cheap.
I owned an MGB prior to my Triumphs and really enjoyed driving slow and
overheating :-) No really, the car was a lot of fun.
