Trevor,
If you wish, there is no reason why you couldn't use a hazard flasher module
for the turn signals, rather than a turn signal flasher. This would give you
the flash rate you want, and would allow you to use the brighter American 27
watt bulbs (1157 or 1156. I would have to look up which is correct -- one is
dual filament and the other is single filament. My OF memory just failed me
again).
The only draw back to this is that you won't get the warning when a bulb is
out. That warning is only important to the great unwashed anyway, as
enthusiasts such as yourself will routinely check all bulbs anyhow, right?
Another side benefit of using a hazard flasher: if your wiring is not all that
it should be, and the turn signals are flashing slowly or not at all because
of some bad connections, the hazard flasher will flash them anyway, as it is
not load dependent. Consider this a temporary fix, till you can make the
proper repairs to the wiring connections!!!!!!!!
