Way off topic

I realize this will be way off the topic of what this list is about 
but with such a wide audience I'm hoping some one can point me in the 
right direction.  

I'm planning on scanning my Haynes TR4/4A book and would like to do 
it in PDF format.  Unfortunately I can't find a program that seems to 
do that.  Does anyone out there know if its possible to scan an image 
in and convert it to PDF format?  If so where can I obtain the 
required software?
