Got to gloat, the first car I owned, and the last car I never
had any kind of accident with. I drove it about in Bristol, for
a year, all that happened was my aerial got broke, when I parked
it too close to a party. This year was the first time I drove
on a regular bases, so I was pleased to collect my no claims bonus.

I went back down there a couple of months back, and took my parents
car, and some woman decided to not get over when we passed.
Bang, wing mirror fencing.
Thankfully the Caviller had them mirrors that get out the way, so there
was a hair line fracture. It was still embarrassing having to explain
to my parents why there was glue holding there wing mirror together.

The one that happened to a friend of mine was a read shunt, only thing
is this enveloped his Volvo with towing hitch, and a Ford Fiesta.
Exactly the same as you describe, lights change Volvo stops, a
minuet goes by, a Ford Fiesta approaches from be hind, realize the
Volvo is not moving, brakes but not hard enough. Fiesta et toeing
hitch become one, Volvo doesn't move. Lights change, and the Volvo
detaches it's self from Fiesta with remodelled front end. No
damage to the Volvo.

This is why, you should make sure that you fit a toeing hitch before
you get a shunt up the rear.
