     This seems an important discussion to me...having replaced the front 
     wings on my 6...noted the drain hose and didn't like the fact that it 
     dumped into the space between the wing and the inner fender...the 
     drains below generally get clogged and the water sits on the upper 
     parts of the rockers...until they rust through.
     
     shouldn't we reroute the drain so that it curves back through the 
     inner fender panel and dumps into/under the firewall, outside the 
     car????

No, you are not missing anything here. The hoses just dump to the space 
between the bulkhead and the fender. The water merely flows out wherever 
there is a gap in the sheet metal. Doesn't strike me as a good design, but 
that's what they did.
     
Please let me know what you come up with as a better idea. When I finish the 
TR5.0 project, I plan to do something about that myself.
