I have had the "pleasure" of taking the trans out several times for
various reasons and it is not so heavy that you would need a hoist. If
it's an o/d unit a little help from another semi-out of shape 30
something helper would be good and the non o/d unit is really not so bad
if doing the job alone. Now, putting it back in is another story. I have
found that an o/d box requires two people to move the box around until
the splines line up. Good luck.
