Rod,
To fix your problem of the wipers 'parking' on the righthand side of the
windshield, you have to remove the main plastic drive gear slightly from it's
metal shaft, rotate it 180 degrees push it back in position. The gear is
located in place by two lugs, so you can't mess it up. Just be careful that
you do not use to much force in separating the gear, as you don't want to break
it -- it *might* be hard to find. I believe mine had some sort of adhesive on
it and took a while of careful 'wiggling' to get the two pieces apart.
When you make this change, you are changing the initial direction of wiper
travel by moving the connecting rod's pivot point. In fact, the position of
the plastic gear on it's metal shaft is the only difference in LHD vs. RHD
wiper motors, at least on TR-6's.
You will have to remove the wiper motor to make the change as the metal shaft
is secured to the bottom of the wiper motor with a 'C' clip.
You don't want to know why I am so familiar with this obscure topic!!
Hope this helps.
