My '72 TR6 has a three-point harness, but it's definitely NOT your
typical arrangement! The harness bolts to the wheel well, but it's
simply a length of webbing with a manual take-up arrangement.
The end of the harness has a slotted gizmo that the tongue from
the lap belt slides through. So Yes, they had three-point belts,
but a typical interia-style setup won't work without drilling a hole
in the wheel well to properly mount the inertia reel.

(I hope that all makes sense....)
