Andy
It states right in the Shop Manual that 10 Pints includes the filter =
-
does not include the # of pints you personally consume.
=20
You could increase or decrease the amount of oil by the change in size =
of
your oil filter but I find that a waste of time.
=20
I have a smaller filter on my 260 engine and I just fill it with 5 qts. =
The
extra amount in the sump does not concern me.

Guys:

=20

I know that the shop manual says five quarts of oil (well, actually 10 =
U.S.
pints, to be exact) goes into the sump on the 260. Does that number =
take
the oil filter size into account? In other words, would you have to
increase or decrease the amount of oil you put into the motor if you =
used a
larger or smaller oil filter? I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I've =
never
known the answer to this question. Hopefully, someone out there can =
send me
to school.

=20

Thanks much,

Andy Walker

Edmond, OK
