I would also advise getting the cooling system flushed out before buying
another fan.  My cooling system had got very silted up with rust.  I
would also advise getting a new thermostat (mine had rusted up totally)
and a new temperature sender so that you know the correct reading is
being transmitted.  All of these parts are pretty cheap and are probably
worth doing anyway if they haven't been replaced recently.
