Hi all,
I have had the full tune up done by a pro, that I trust (full rolling road,
sorting out twin webers, 150 pounds!).
However, what he demonstrated, was that given a perfect car, he could reach a
better power output than I could, and if everything stayed constant the car
would be great forever..
What I realised, was that my car was not perfect (who's is!!) and that I was
going to have to get the car tuned after each little intervention I made..
Hence best thing is to learn yourself.
Timing light is worthwhile definately...
I have also just bought a %CO analyser (Early Xmas present). A bit more
expensive than the colourtune (60quid) but the whole lot is still less than
one pro-tuning!!
Cheers
Tim
