Gee, I go to British car meets exclusively-some at airports in conjungtion
with air shows-and the Spitfire plane is ALWAYS brought up to me. I don't
find it the least bit puzzling-people seem to find it part of some sort
of "mystique". Many of the people who bring it up to me are Brits-and Brits
whose fathers flew Spits -even gave up their lives. They haven't any problem
with the idea that I'm a "spit pilot".

I think that the plane and the image of the plane is really tied up with
this car.

It's fun! It's adventure! At least it is for me.

I honestly think I'd be less inclined to be active with the NASC than the
NASS.
I already belong to a Triumph club-and we spittys sort of stick together.
I'm usually
the only one in the group to show up with my spit. And they always bring up
the
plane/car connection too-I'm their little spit pilot!

Just my feelings on what started out as a lovely, fun idea and is
degenerating into
something less fun!
