Even as a pure race car, the cost of standard rotors is so low that the pain
of replacing them is far outweighed by the cost of cross-drilled ones. Our
pads run about $80, a set, and the rotors run about 30, we won't even blink
twice about wearing out the rotors, and it seems to be going at a rate of
about 2 sets of pads to a set of rotors.
