'79 was a "split" year with both chrome and rubber bumper cars. this
was a common situation as the factory used this as a means of getting
rid of the last of something before the next something came along. a
couple examples were tr3b's (got rid of tr3 body shells), tr4a/tr250
(got rid of last of 4 cyl engines and bodies) & '79 spit (got rid of
chrome front bumpers and upright radiators). ted
