Joe-
You obviously have a lot more knowledge than I do about the vacuum advance
and carburetor. I have a '59 235 in my '50 3600, and recently rebuilt the
carburetor. That project went okay, but I noticed that the vacuum advance
was not (and had not been) working. I don't know if it has ever worked, but
the truck runs just fine without it. Anyway, on the advice of a neighbor, I
ordered a new one, and it's due to arrive tomorrow.
Question (to Joe, or anyone who knows): Is there any trick to putting this
thing on, or does it just bolt back on like the old one that I took off?
Right now the distributor just sits in the hole, and turns by hand as far as
the wires will allow. And the truck will not start. Anything I need to
know before I bolt the new one up?
Thanks!
