Ben,
Find out if the distributor was curved and set for ported or intake
vacuum...if ported, find a port on the carb that does not have vacuum until
the throttle is open, if intake...then find a port that has vacuum all the
time.
Edlebrocks are usually good to go out of the box, and require just a little
tinkering to dial in, assuming you have a new carb, and not a used one
someone has played with.
