Just follow the workshop manual for this and you won't go wrong. There
are those who can do the bearing adjustment differently, but the book
method works well.
The bearing clearance is set up with clean, oiled bearings. You set the
adjustment with the use of shims, then remove shims and bearings, load
bearings with grease, and reassemble with the shims used for the
adjustment. Sounds complicated, isn't really that difficult once you
have done one, and you will have peace of mind for thousands and
thousands of miles.
