FWIW, when I bought my 1969 1600 a couple of months ago I called USAA
(our insurance carrier) and they agreed to cover the car at the full
purchase price with complete coverage (comprehensive, collision, even
towing...). Only two issues 1) you have be a USAA member, e.g. U.S.
military dependents and/or spouses and/or adult children's spouses
(me) and 2) they would write the policy since we already had our two
other cars with the same coverage. I'm keeping the sales receipts and
receipts for everything else. And, I'll probably get it appraised
somewhere down the road (say 3-5 years).
