That's marshmallow.  No, I don't know where the name comes from nor why it
is spelled that way.

When I was in the Univac Sports Car Club (while I worked for 3M!) our
"Driver from England", John Dymond, was with us on an ice-racing trip to
Thunder Bay or Winnipeg, I forget which.  John worked for Univac in
England, and had been sent to Minnesota on a two-year training program.
We were picking up some stuff in a Canadian grocery store when John
spotted Wheatabix on the shelf.  He was apparently addicted to the stuff
for breakfast back home, and could not find it in the Twin Cities.  He
bought so much of it, that I was afraid Customs would get suspicious.

I still think of John when I see "Doggybix" in Fred Basset.

I never even knew what it was until some guy in Brussels handed a sandwich
to Colin Hay.  Then the papers here had to explain it.  They were talking
about importing it on a grand scale.  Never happened.
