Way back...sorry about this, a friend of mine, a dentist, had spent his army
time in Germany, and bought a GT40 and brought it home with him. He gave me
a ride in it on Foothill Rd (much more fun then than now) and I was blown
away.
Turns out he used it most every day, and left it parked on the street. One
day, a lady parked behind him, forgot to set the hand brake, and her car
smushed the car's aluminum.
It took 6 months to get it repaired and he sold it shortly thereafter.
When asked how he got it insured in the first place (I had a devil of a time
getting the 7 insured), he said, "I told them it was a 2-door Ford!"
