who cares what class youre in, if you want to win nationals, then you would
have to prep it ONLY for autocross, fitting in the class rules to the max
extent, not engine swap, etc...
i have a 90 crx HF with a dohc non-vtec (JDM spec ZC for those honda guys)
and personally i dont care that im in D-mod. like Jamie Sculerati said,
set it up either for autocross only, or for the other normal driving you
do. the other 28 days a month i drive my 1900 pound rocket makes up for
getting my butt kicked 2 or 3 days a month by carts or buggies or whatever
they are.
you know what cars you are competing with on the 'street', just look at
their times in the other classes. buy yourself the trophy you didnt get ,
after you beat the eclipses and sentra SE-R's and most other imports. i
just go so i can be a better driver and get to know my daily driver car.
id put the B16 in it, throw in some type-r cams, and max out the suspension
and get some cheap 13"x7 or 8" wheels and some hoosiers, and go for it in
D-mod. look for some club events where they class by # of cylinders and
turbo/na if you want to be competitive with the swap.
