Lemme clarify. It only takes one example of a car consistently
finishing well, as Curt's 911, the Nagler RX7tt, and a couple of
Elans have all done, to prove the potential.

As you should be able to see from my earlier posts, I'm NOT
talking about one EVENT. I'm talking about specific CARS doing
well at multiple EVENTS over a period of several YEARS.

preparation level,
No, you can't get a valid picture that way. All I have to do to
prove something is possible (a car being competitive in a class)
is find one example (one car) that does that. If other folks
haven't yet managed to field Nationals-winning RX7tt, that only
proves that they haven't yet found as much of the potential that
the Nagler car clearly shows is there. Ditto the 911, and the
Elan. You can only consider the best performance a model to show
the potential of that model. BY DEFINITION, the also-rans have
yet to realize the potential.

"Dominance" means "nobody else can win." That assertion has been
proven wrong in ASP at Nationals multiple times in the last three
years. IF the Elan were truly dominant, it would be crushing the
class. Coming in second ain't "dominance." Winning by a few
tenths per day ain't dominance. The Elan does NOT dominate ASP.
It's an excellent choice of car for the class, and it's a real
bargain compared to an RX7tt or a 911, which is why it's so
popular . But popularity ain't dominance, either.
