I think what made the Vanderville bearing was the alloy that they were made 
from.

I would check with Kai Radicke as I seem to remember reading in his series 
of engine articles that appeared in 6 Pack, that the alloy bearings were 
being made again, but not under the Vanderville name?  I don't recall a 
source, but I may have seen something on the British Parts Northwest 
website.
