Having owned a bunch of Triumphs over the years, nothing they did surprises me (at least not for long!). The TR250 explanation about the starter gear engaging rearwards makes sense, I guess they never thought to switch it over with the 6. My first car was a '71 Tr-6 I bought in 1976. The starter would "slip" every so often, I thought it was due to a missing tooth. Now I know it was the reversed gear. Oh well. Brian Yarborough 1976 TR-6 CF55886UO |
