Geoff---I believe it is better to have the pilot bushing float in the
crank, rather than having it in a fixed position. Floating bearings, or
bushings, extend the life of the part, and still do the job of locating
this end of the transmission.
I think there is only two styles, to fit the two different TR crank
snout lengths. These are described in the TRF parts catalogue. You would
use the shorter of the two for your '74.
