Is there really a difference between a RHD and LHD car?

Looking at the wiring diagrams it seems like they are using RHD and LHD as
a distinction between trafficators and flasher lamps. Maybe the difference
between home market and export? Mine is a RHD Varitone with flasher
lamps. None of the descriptions apply.

Seems like there should be more info out there.
