We do all run together - although I could see an argument for bumping
cars that are "unsafely fast" into a faster group. We ARE noted on
the timing and race results as being in the correct class or mod1 or
mod2, so the modified cars are in their own group. That's exactly
what I asked for. Now, I think there was a data entry issue or two
at Blackhawk where not everyone got the correct class noted but I
have no beef with that. The intention was there. I do feel some
pressure from this to make my car correct, so even though it's only a
sticker and I joke about it, I really do want to legally run with
2B. I just can't afford to do so. I would find it interesting to
see Carl's stat's when he puts them together on how many cars have
changed things to be era correct to see if the new classifications
have had an effect. This is new territory for VSCDA, and the club
DID take some action (even if it wasn't severe enough for your tastes).

MY point is that if you take a "screw the 1275 bugeyes" attitude, you
ALSO take a "screw Tony" attitude. That may be an unintended
consequence, but a very real one to me.

I was happy to see some concrete suggestions from you that didn't
have me sitting at home, and think that this is healthy dialog.

I am SO glad that I'm not in Carl's position. There's a no-win deal
if there ever was one.

I understand what you're after, and you're not offending me by this
discussion - I just want to offer the other side of the fence
argument. Not all of the mod cars are a Dr. J situation (who I don't
mind racing against at all).
