You're absolutely right Charles, there is no "correct" way to do a rebuild.
Everyone's needs, finances and circumstances vary.
Engines are like people, we all live with a few aches and pains, stiff
joints, and are bit slow to get going in the morning. Sort of like piston
slap when cold, bearing knock till oil pressure comes up, and a bit smokey
on startup. As long as you make it home every day and you're happy with it
what does it matter?
