It has been my experience "Most of the Big Healey Guys" I have met or know
from this list are good people.
Several years ago (actually more than that) they had their west
coast meet at South Shore, Lake Tahoe Not being a member or registered for
the meet, I decided to "CRASH" the party and check out the cars.
Now they being on my turf I knew that you didn't park in front of
the Hotel and walk in so I drove around the side where I found they had a
gate with a guard. Found a space outside to park and started to sneak in
past the guard (not a real guard, just a member who must have been drafted
to work the gate for the cars). He stopped me and asked what did I think I
was doing? I told him that I just wanted to look at the cars. He said to
me that was OK but I would "have to" drive my bug-i in and park it on the
lawn with the other ones. So I did and was mobbed by 10 to15 people
(couldn't have all been sprite guys as there were only two bug-i's there)
wanting me to lift the hood and talk about the the car. As they all started
to drift away, I was introduced to "Bic" (I think) Healey, and finally got
to walk around and check out the cars. Not really being a BIG Healey fan I
must admit I really liked the 100M's (I think there were more of them at the
show than were originally produced).
Anyway are you sure that wasn't the "Reno Jag Club" you were talking
about?
