I am on 11 different groups on Yahoo and SPAM is very infrequent. There are
no ads in the emails. In addition, it keeps archives for you and can be in
digest as well as web based.

They just went through a complete revamp and the new stuff is rather good.

Aren't those the ones with the ads and stuff?? The used to be a SHO group
there (SHOs Unlimited, or something like that) that pretty much sucked, and
got a LOT of spam.

I would suggest the setup that V8 SHO uses.

Just set it up on Yahoo Groups. It's free, allows attachments.

Okay I'm open to suggestions about hosting. Please chime in, especially
folks who know about the tech issues. But I strongly feel it's time to
bring the SHOtimes and TechSHO communities back into one.

Personally I agree with Ron that an email list-server remains my preferred
format for this community. Let's hear from others.

If hosting on V8SHO.com is the answer, or any other host, let's hear about
options. Let's move forward. Thanks.

I tend to agree with you. Part of the issue is where to go.

Topica allows some attachments and non-text messages, but Topica gets goofy
every now & then.

Autox.team for SHOtimes has been pretty reliable, but it is pure text-based,
and is touchy to message size.

I would suggest getting away from both of the above and getting on the
server that hosts the V8 list (or one like it), so as to allow HTML and
attachments. Sure, it costs a few bucks, but there has been good response
for donations when the V8 list needs operating funds.

I still like the mailing lists better than forums, and I'm on a good
half-dozen forums.
