You're just not thinking "toolmanly" enough!  This is an excuse to either a) 
break out the propane torch, or b) use that stove for something besides 
stirfrying tofu.  :-)

Something I learned from a BMW list is that if you take the old washers and
put them in a flame like on your stove and get them nice and hot you can
reuse them and they will re-form.
