If you bought your car used, it's probably gone. On the top of the firewall
along the front edge is a raised flat area about an inch? (my car's in
storage) wide with several holes spaced along it's length. A large 'D' shaped
rubber seal is supposed to be mounted with plastic clips along this ledge. It
seals the fresh air vents from engine bay heat. Unfortunately, hot air can't
exit out the bottom like most cars so you have to remove it to allow airflow
through the engine bay at speed.

I have been reading the discussion on fans and was wondering what rubber you
guys are recommending to remove on the firewall. As i am at the terminal and
not in the garage it is hard to visualize. Pugs

<Heat just continues to build up in the engine bay. This is why you
remove the rubber molding on the firewall.>
