Register the new car at registration, and you'll get a second (or third, or
???) driver/car combo barcode from reg.

So in my case, I have 2 cars (WRX and Impala). I'll have 2 barcodes on the
back of my SCCA Membership card, #94 STX (the WRX) and #94 SM (the Impala).
When I go up to reg, I simply tell them which of the 2 barcodes on the back
of my membership card they should scan that day. They scan it, that car is
registered...done!

Like I mentioned before, this barcode stuff may not be coming thru so
clearly on the internet. It'll be a lot more obvious (ond more
importantly, obvious how damn simple it really is :)) once you go thru
registration at your first event with the new system.

IF you had put the event barcode on your now broken car, tell the person
scanning the EVENT barcode near the start line to not scan the barcode on
the car but rather to call in to the trailer and tell which driver/car they
should put in the queue.

I'd personally recommend putting the EVENT barcode on your helmet side for
that reason ;). Because presumably if you switch cars in the middle of the
event, you're keeping your same brain-bucket on there ;)

Yes, yes, yes, and yes :)
