According to a report in the December issue of "MG Enthusiast" the last of the stations in the U.S. and U.K. have been sold to Shell. The orangd and blue are gone, save for vintage cars.

Chevron bought all of Gulf's worldwide interests in 1982 or 83. Because of anti-trust laws, the FTC required Chevron to divest itself of a certain part of Gulf. BP aquired the Gulf retail locations,

All the gulf stations down here (Florida) changed to BP stations and BP still has their own credit cards (as does Chevron) - so it must be true! I don't recall Chevron acquiring Gulf Oil either... ha
