Since my plastic tunnel hasn't been screwed down in 5 years and the carpet is not glued down either, and I still don't have the radio bracket thing in for about 6 years, It was very quick. I concur

Hi David, According to the informatin I have, the 73 does use a 3 rail transmission. And like everyone else I can vouch for what the shifter kit does for the shifting. Amazing difference. Check out H

David One thing you should check when you have the shift extension off is a rubber bushing that is located on the opposite side of the shaft from where the shift lever is attached. I found when I had

My PO early-74 had the 3-rail; my 78 has the single-rail. I believe the switch occurred fairly early into the 1974 model run. Your 78 (if not modified) should have the single-rail. If REVERSE is to

FWIW, most U.S. spec. 1973 and 1974 Spitfire 1500s I've seen over the years had the three-rail gearbox, and just about all the 1975 U.S. 1500s (and later) had the single-rail gearbox. --Andy * * * *
