Does anybody know what the purpose of the spirals are for in the master cylinder-to-slave cylinder pipe? And, are they important? My '67 had three spirals in it, while I looked in my friend's '70, wh

** Yep they are in there for a very good reason. These coils (about 1-1/2 or 2 inches in dia) are there for stress relief. Since there is no flexible hose, and the engine/tranny move with vibration,

The coils are there to give some flexibility to the tubing. The engine= relative to the master cylinder and without enough "give" the tubing w= ill eventually break. You might not have a problem soon

I would imagine that the spirals in the clutch fluid line are to allow the motor and trans to rock on their mounts without pulling on the clutch lines. Without the spirals, or some way to deal with t

I'll take a shot at this one. I believe there spirals serve two purposes. 1) To absorb engine movement so as not to disturb the fitting at the MC thus causes leaks. 2) To establish proper pressure fo

No, I don't. The problem here is that the fitting is totally butchered. I'm having a tough time getting locking pliers (vice grips) to hold onto it. I don't want to screw the MC up in process. I thin
