I would imagine that the spirals in the clutch fluid line are to allow the
motor and trans to rock on their mounts without pulling on the clutch
lines. Without the spirals, or some way to deal with the motor/trans
moving side to side I would imagine that the line would pull, and either
crimp the line or pull it out of the master or the slave cylinder.

Subject: Clutch Fluid Pipe
Does anybody know what the purpose of the spirals are for in the master
cylinder-to-slave cylinder pipe? And, are they important? My '67 had
three spirals in it, while I looked in my friend's '70, which only has one.
I replaced that original pipe this weekend with one that I formed, but it
was too short to put any spirals in and I'm wondering if that's something I
need to worry about. Thanks in advance!
