Two things to remember:

#1  If you do use heat (a torch) to soften up the undercoating do not set
your car, your garage, and your house on fire.

#2  If you do use a solvent, don't poison yourself with the fumes or let the
flammable fumes get to an ignition source (water heater in garage) and blow
up everything you own.


Do it out in the open air with a fire extinguisher or garden hose handy.
