John,
If you only knew how much time was spent developing schedules, I think you
would appreciate them more. We made a special effort to give Group 4
favorable time slots. There is so much more to it than just filling in the
blanks. Anyway, here are a few clips from my email. I have left out the
names. So far yours was the only negative, but I haven't heard from LA yet.

<<Jack: Hang in there! Seems to me that vintage drivers are getting bitchier
and bithcier.>>
<<Expanding it to four days has meant a lot in terms of preparation to a
race team (although not as fast this year as in prior years, ------- is
continuing to fine-tune the suspension on his Cobra, so we were especially
grateful for the extra sessions), and I think distinguishes this SVRA
organization, and event versus others we run during the season.>>
<<This year, besides the large amount of track time, I was pleasantly
surprised at Registration that I was greeted as "a member of SVRA". That
made my weekend!>>
<<thanks for inviting us to race with you. Now we know what the spirit of
vinatge racing is all about.>>

<<Anyway, I am really thankful there are enough guys like you and the other
SVRA directors, who continue on despite these naysayers (and others who feel
compelled to write these scorching emails!)...you guys deserve a medal for
putting up with all of us!!!>>
