On behalf of lawyers everywhere, I feel compelled to respond to the fellow
who says "I know we don't want to turn this into a lawyer bashing party but"
<<THAT is the biggest problem with the legal proffesion today. They have
become (granted not all) the greedest proffesion of all.>>
At least we know how to use our spell checking systems. What sort of
in-depth study have you done on the subject of greed and lawyers? Or do you
simply believe what you see on television and read in the newspaper? Why is
it that when someone in another profession makes money he or she is
"successful" but if he or she is a lawyer, they are called "greedy"?
The truth is that the VAST MAJORITY of lawyers are hard-working, honest
and principled folks. And most of us are not millionaires! Not even close!
Most of us have to worry about house payments and credit card bills just like
everyone else. (I guess you must think the recent internet millionaires
EARNED all of their money since we are the greediest profession)
Did you not consider that there might be a few attorneys on this list
when you wrote such an insensitive and unwarranted comment about attorneys?
It really bothers me when people talk about lawyers as if we are some
separate class of persons and not someone who would be your neighbor, a
little league coach or a fellow car enthusiast on this mailing list. In
other words, an ordinary citizen not so different from your self.
Thank you, I feel better now and I hope that future postings are just
about vintage racing and related topics.
