Jim,
12.2 seems a bit low to me. My fully charged optima shows 13.2. And
11.2 at the coil is low. There might be oxidation in the switch. If you
dont see a strong spark try replacing the coil. Check the points and
gap. With the ignition on and the points closed you should hear/see a
spark when the points are opened manually.
The fact that it wont fire does sound electrical to me.
The last time my 3 stopped turned out to be a loose connection to the
coil. All I did was pull both terminals and re-attach and I was on my way.
