When I was a kid, I read a magazine article about the different types of car
competion one could enter. At the end, they mentioned concours d'elegance. I
thought, "Who would ever want to do that?".
When I got my TR3 in 1980, I joined a Triumph club. I thought we would do
track days, rallies, autocrosses; things like that. I had no idea in the
world that concours would be the major focus, and that they did none the
things that I thought car clubs did.
I have attended a few Nationals, and, while I don't enter the concours (I
don't even want to be in Participant's Choice!) I DO like to look at the
concours cars. Not judge; look.
So, while it's not for me, I like others to be involved in concours. If that
makes any sense.
