> What models of Triumph did come with PI?
Quite a few in the UK, but the only ones imported to the US were the late
TR7 and TR8.
> Was there ever a system on the TR4?
No, it was new on the TR5. And was the reason given why the US never got
the TR5 ... the tailpipe emissions were pretty bad and apparently no one at
Lucas or Triumph could figure out how to clean them up.
Oddly enough, just a few years later, the Germans started using PI as the
only way to meet US emissions ! And their early systems were nowhere near
as sophisticated as the Lucas PI.
Might be worth mentioning ... TWM Induction in Goleta, CA makes a throttle
body that will bolt up to a Weber manifold to fit EFI to a TRactor motor,
and others make the electronics. You *can* have a TR4 PI if your wallet is
big enough...
Electromotive was talking about offering fairly complete kits that would
bolt up to the stock manifold, but I don't know what ever happened with that
idea, or even if they are still around.
