"The "extra leaf" is added between the main leaf and the axle (it's
actually only a short section maybe 5" long), and has the effect of
lowering
the side it is on."

Were there variations in this approach in the TR3A? I have three sets
of rear springs, two in use and a third from a parts car. One set has
six leaves each plus this "spacer" leaf that Randall describes. These
are on TS 64803L. One has seven leaves and the spacer, these were from
TS31684L. The third have six leaves and no spacer, but more arch in one
spring that I have been told goes on the driver's side for weight
compensation. I am unsure of the commission number for this vehicle,
but it has the characteristics of one between 31684 and 64803. The
TS31684L chassis that had the seven leaf springs also had competition
coils in the front, plus a comp roll bar and harness. I have assurance
that any of these are OEM.
