Jeff,

I don't know if you know this, but you've asked one of the "Big Three"
Triumph questions (the other two being which brake fluid (or fluif) to use
and which kind of oil to use for overdrive trannies). Having said that,
I'll give you my answer. Although the books I have say to use 90W gear oil
and some folks have fashioned tools to perform this, I have always used
moly-based grease.

Hope this helps,

Hi all,

I'm hoping for some definitive answer here. In regards to the trunnions on
a TR6. I've read and been told conflicting statements regarding whether you
should fill them with 90W oil or grease. The service manual indicates 90W
but I was told by the local British car parts store that the trunnions will
not hold oil and that you need to run grease.

Which is correct?

Thanks,
