Ed,
185 degrees? - isn't that on the high side - shouldn't normal running temp be 
158 degrees?
Wondering if you have valve spring problems.. (as in 'cooked', and/or burning 
exhaust valves)

I have been putting about 500 miles a week (cruising speed around 50 - 60) on 
it for the last three weeks or more. Sometimes the temp got a bit high but no 
overheat, and always recovered to 185 on the down side of the mountain 
(hill).
Any suggestions, could the valves have gone so out in such a short period. 
One day fine, the next like running on 3 (or 2) cylinders.
