I rechromed my bumpers and my luggage rack. Front and rear bumper was
$500.00CDN ($325.00US) and the luggage rack was $300.00CDN($190.00US). It
hurts to hear the price but when you pick them up...You will say, "Money
well spent!"
Triple plating is the only way to go.
A buyer for the one of the big 3 advised me to keep my original bumper and
do the triple plating because the repros are simple chroming and the metal
is thinner AND made in Taiwan.

So, my advise is TRIPLE PLATING. And the best place to get that done is a
Harley shop. Harley people are very particular about their chrome and only
get the best. You may want to call a few shops and see there work. But as
far as pricing...You get what you pay for.

My 2 bits worth.

Patrick

I'll add that I agree triple plating is the only way to go for street use.
The cheap plating that you normally get on a lot of replacement bumpers
and the like will not hold up to continuous exposure to moisture. Therefore
it won't be too long before you start seeing little brown patches
forming. Trailer queens that are not exposed to that sort of environment
might just do fine with single plated parts. (But I would not want to be the
test case for that)!
