For the A-type OD used on TR2-6, adding the overdrive does not change the
length of the transmission. It's exactly the same length as the tail
housing that gets removed.
However, the 4-synchro box is a little longer than the 3-synchro, something
under 1/2". If fitting a 4-synchro to a TR2/3, the rear motor mount should
be relocated slightly, although it's certainly possible to just strain the
mounts by that much. The splines in the driveshaft will accommodate the
small change in length.
