>OK, from recent discussion I know they are 3/8 NC studs, 2" long. But how

do I get the old ones out? They apparantly are steel. One broken (got
this out by drilling, picking, chiseling, etc) and one other cross threaded

(DPO used a steel nut). I've tried to double nut them but no dice, I'm
afraid of stripping the thread out. Vice grips don't grip. Been there and

done that, someone?

If you have access to an oxi-acetylene set up you can heat the manifold
intil it starts to glow a dull red. The steel and iron starts to get soft
at this point and you can grab them with vice grips and unscrew them quite
easily. Heat only the immediate area around the stud (heating the whole
end of the manifold is a waste of gas) and keep the stud gripped well in
the vice grip until it cools. Don't throw a hot stud into the trash - a
fire can ruin your whole afternoon.
